Happy Monday! I am so excited because I was asked by Donna at Butternut Sage Designs to take part in the Creative Blog Hop. I am so honored! I do not know Donna personally, but I do know she is a talented artist. I have enjoyed her creations for a long time.
The card I am sharing with you today is a tri-fold card. The reason I decided to use this particular fold is because Donna enjoyed my fall tri-fold card, and I wanted this to be a “thank you” for choosing me to participate in the Creative Blog Hop!
The Make Something for Someone Special Occasions Catalog from Stampin’ Up! is full of wonderful stamp sets. This card features the new Butterflies Basic Bundle (I like the clear bundle), and the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the catalog.
Now to answers the four questions that are part of the Creative Blog Hop.
What are you working on now?
I am working on cards and possibly a 3-D project for the upcoming Wacky Watercolor Blog Hop.
How does your work differ from others in your genre?
I like layers and have a hard time making a single layered, simple card even though I love them! I just never seem to be able to stop at one layer! I am addicted to sponging, so often my cards have something that has been sponged! I have to tell myself “no sponging on this card”! Ha!
Why do you create what you do?
I have always enjoyed creating something, whether it’s with yarn, flowers, or even frosting – yep I used to love decorating cakes! Then my daughter-in-law introduced me to stamping. I can remember those first cards…oh my, has stamping come a long way!
I create to express myself and to inspire others. Stamping satisfies my creative side – that need to create something. I also love to see a card come together from the “story” I am trying to tell.
How does your creativity work?
I get inspiration from many sources. Sometimes I’m inspired by something I saw on Pinterest. Other times it is the stamp set itself; often it’s the layout of the card. Many times, when I create a card I am trying to tell a story. For example, with the card above the story is about a butterfly in search of sweet flowers! The ribbon was added to speak of the delicacy of the butterfly. Other times when I create it’s all about the technique. Once the inspiration process has started the story begins!
I have the privilege to nominate two more artists for next week and they are Heidi Weaver from Stampin Along With Heidi and Kath Ricks at All That Scrap. Heidi is one of the original Wacky Watercooler artists and Kath also participates in the Wacky Watercooler hops. I know they will have some fun projects to share with you!
Please leave a comment – I’d love to hear from you.
