Wacky Watercooler Welcome 2015 Blog Hop

Originally posted on January 22, 2015

Hi there! Are you ready for another fabulous Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop? Our theme this time is “Our Favorite…”. I will be sharing with you my favorite project made by a peer from a past post during the 2014 Sale-a-bration time period, my favorite current Stampin’ Up! product, and my favorite of any Stampin’ Up! product I choose!

Before we get started, I just want to remind you, this is a circular Blog Hop.  That means that wherever you begin, if you continue to go to the “next” person on the list, you will eventually wind up right where you first started.  You will find the “next” button (and the “previous” button – if you want to go backwards) at the end of this post. The “home” button will give you a listing of all participating blogs.

If you’ve been moving forward through the blog hop, you’ll just have seen the wonderful and fun creations by the very talented Heidi Weaver from Alberta, Canada.

Favorite Peer Project…

I have the privilege of sharing a card made by Deborah Smart.  Deborah always has fun and creative projects and it was hard to choose which one as my favorite from the 2014 Sale-a-bration time frame. I chose this particular card for a couple of reasons.  First I liked the layout, second, I liked the way Deborah tied the colors in the Designer Series Paper and the flowers together, and finally I like the Apothecary Accents Framelits.

Did I mention we are to CASE (copy and share everything) our favorite peer project? For my card I used the Lotus Blossoms Sale-A-Brations stamp set as my focal point. The Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper is from January 6 – June 2, 2015 Make Something for Someone Special Occasions Catalog. I just love the Painted Blooms DSP! I also used the new Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Favorite Current Stampin’ Up! Product…

Stampin’ Up! has so many wonderful products, and I am particularly fond of so many of the products in the new Occasions Catalog that choosing just one was a hard for me. But, I did make a choice (ha!) and used several of my “new” favorites!

So what did I use?
  • Hello You Thinlits Dies.  This set has the words hello, thanks, you, and happy. I love die sets because they add such interest to a card.
  • Painted Petals Stamp Set
  • Butterfly Basics Stamp Set
  • Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

To make the background panel, using Crumb Cake ink, I stamped the honeycomb style stamp from Butterfly Basics repeatedly over Whisper White Cardstock. I applied Pink Pirouette ink directly to the Spring Flower embossing folder (note: I wanted the inked impression to be indented so I inked the side without the logo), then laid the stamped background piece in the embossing folder and ran it through the Big Shot. Finally, I sponged the background piece with Pink Pirouette ink.

My Favorite of any Stampin’ Up! Choice…

Well…like I said earlier there are so many products that I love in the new Occasions Catalog that I picked another product out of it. Mind you our annual catalog is FULL of beautiful things, and we have wonderful
products that are introduced throughout the year, but I just couldn’t help myself. I love bags, and therefore, my “Choice Award” goes to the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies.

The Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies are awesome. The reason I love this product so much is you really don’t have to do much other than cut out the paper and adhere it together when you use Designer Series Paper. The final bag measures 3 11/16” x 5 ¼”, the perfect size for a few pieces of candy, jewelry, bags of tea, gift cards, that little something for the special someone.

So there you have it!  I hope you liked my creations.  Please leave a comment to let me know you were here – I love reading your messages!
