Wacky Watercooler April Fools Blog Hop

Welcome to another fabulous Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop!  It’s not what it seems.  Looks can be deceiving.  April Fools…that’s what this Blog Hop is all about.  It’s sure to delight you in what you see, or don’t!

* * * * *

Before we get started, I just want to remind you, this is a circular Blog Hop.  That means that wherever you begin, if you continue to go to the “next” person on the list, you will eventually wind up right where you first started.  You will find the “next” button (and the “previous” button – if you want to go backwards) at the end of this post. The “home” button will give you a listing of all participating blogs.

If you've been moving forward through the blog hop, you'll just have seen the wonderful and fun creations by the one and only, very fabulous Stefanie Pletscher.
* * * * *

This first project is playing peek-a-boo with you; in fact that is what the technique is called.  When looking at the card unopened you see flowers in the bud in the oval.

Once you open the card the buds "disappear" and you see the flowers in full bloom inside the oval. It's not what it seems!

You can find the instructions on how to make this fun card at Splitcoast Stampers.  It’s a fun technique to play with.

Here's a video showing you how the card moves.

I made this next project using a technique that lends itself to this hop and is one that’s been around for a long time.  It’s called a magic card.  Using the Sheltering Tree stamp set from Stampin’ Up! I stamped the tree without adding leaves or blossoms and set it inside a circle cut from the Circle Collection Framelits.  The Painted Blooms designer series paper is the perfect compliment for the front of this card.

BUT, this card is not what it seems…pull on the tab at the top of the card and you will discover there is more to the card…

April Fools!  Look at the beautiful tree decked out in Wild Wasabi leaves!  How fun is this?!?

Something a little different, but a fun project to do with kids.

What is it?  It's a flextangle and it moves.  A flextangle is made up of flexagons.  According to Babble Dabble Do, Flexagons are paper models that can be flexed to reveal hidden faces.  So I've made a flextangle using different stamps that are revealed as you rotate the flextangle.  A shout out and a BIG thank you to Babble Dabble Do for sharing such fun creativity!

Hoping this video helps you see how fun a flextangle is.

Here are a picture of another one I made.  I stamped the same image through out the paper, but varied flower colors.

This is a great project to do with kids.  Give it a try and smile today!

So there you have it!  I hope you liked my creations.  Please leave a comment to let me know you were here – I love reading your messages!

  3. Oh Marie I love your three projects. Your peek a boo card totally rocks, and I oh so want to try out this fun technique. I also really like the magic card. The Sheltering tree is one of my new fav stamps and you've used it so well in this card, especially matching it up with the Painted Blooms DSP! Can't remember what we used to call these hexagon things when we were kids, but I remember they were fun to play with. Nice job!

  10. I love these, Marie! Magic cards are so fun - but that peek-a-boo card is fabulous. What a fun graduation card that would be - with a baby pic that changes to the grown up grad! I may have to make one of these for Miss Amelia's first birthday. Not that she'd know. She'd just want to eat it. Maybe I'll wait a few years!
