The Best of Autumn
Kruse Farms is a local fruit stand and farm that I drive by when I go to town. One of their fields is full of pumpkins and I just couldn't resist getting in the spirit of things! I used The Best of Autumn set from Stampin' Up! for this card, and I'm looking forward to making more cards with it!
I used the wax paper resist technique along with the Chevron embossing folder to create the background paper for the card. I think it gave it a basket weave look.
Wax Paper Resist Technique:
You will need: Wax paper; aluminum foil; glossy paper; embossing folder; brayer; ink; Big Shot; and iron.
- Place wax paper in embossing folder and emboss (I cut my wax paper to 5 1/2 x 4 1/4)
- Place embossed wax paper between 2 sheets of glossy paper (I used 5 1/2 x 4 1/4) with shinning sides facing. You can also use the dull side and it gives you a different look.
- Place the sandwiched paper and wax paper between a folded sheet of aluminum foil - use enough to cover the papers
- Place on ironing surface and iron (I ironed mine about 5 seconds)
- Remove wax paper and throw it away
- Brayer glossy paper with ink of choice
- Dry with heat gun or wipe off (I dried mine)

Cards from Class
I want to share some of the cards the ladies made in class. I love how they are all different, but alike. You will notice how each background piece turned out different even though they all used the same embossing folder for the wax paper resist technique, and used the same ink color.
