 Scrapbook Page

I belong to a group call the Weekly Craft Challenge .  A previous challenge was to create a pocket with washi tape, bling, and ink incorporated on the pocket.  The next challenge was to make an insert for the pocket with gesso, string, and the word happy on it.

After many trails and errors I finally decided to apply the gesso as a clear cover on colored card stock by painting it over a stencil to make balloons.  After the gesso dried I cut the balloons out and attached them to the my project.  The gesso made the paper shiny and gave it a pop of light.  The lesson for the day for me was how messy gesso is!   After making the pocket insert I liked it enough I actually wanted to use it on my scrapbook page.

I did make another insert for the pocket.  I attached a picture to the insert, and then also placed additional pictures in the pocket.

Here is the "insert" for the pocket that became part of the layout!  I just had to add another bird since I already had one with balloons on the pocket!!!  I'd probably do it a little different next time, but......live and learn!  I would make the balloons going a different direction and make the piece a little smaller.  It's attached now, so there it will stay!  Ha!!

Here is the scrapbook layout.  All products were Stampin' Up with the exception of the gesso and some black string.
