Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop - The September Mix Up

Serene Silhouettes

I was outside earlier listening to the birds.  I find it interesting that this time of year the bird sounds are more of a chirp.  It is as they are talking about life!  During the spring the sounds are a happy song with many melodies blending and rising all around me in an expectation of new life.  I do love listening to the birds anytime of the year - it is so relaxing.  

For this first card I used the bird stamp from the Serene Silhouettes stamp set which is found in the Annual Catalog.  Can't you image the birds talking?  

The Basic Gray piece of card stock is dry embossed using the Woodland Textured Impressions EF which is from the Holiday Catalog.

I stamped the tree from Sheltering Tree set on the Calypso Coral.  This set is also in the Annual Catalog.

Happy Scenes

Let's shake things up a bit!  To create this shaker card I used a set from the Holiday Catalog, Happy Scenes.  The opening is cut using the large leaf die from the Leaflets Framelits Dies.

 

I embossed the image with Black Embossing Powder prior to water coloring the sky and ground.  When I was done water coloring I colored in the pumpkins and leaves with markers.  

My biggest challenge with this card was the beads, they kept sticking to the acetate sheet - static clean!!

Wonderland

Wonderland is a fabulous set found in the Holiday Catalog.  The trees stamp alone make a beautiful card or can be used with so many other stamps.  I posted a "Walk Down Memory Lane" card earlier this week using a retired set and the Wonderland set.  You can check it out here, it is the second card of the post.

I wish I could have capture the elegance of this card with my camera.

I first embossed the trees with White Embossing Powder, stamped again (offsetting a bit) with VersaMark, and then embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.  I used a Silver Foil Sheet for the layer behind the stamped image.
