Welcome to another fun Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop! Our theme this time is Let's Sprinkle August With Life. I will be sharing two project I made with the Sprinkles of Life stamp set from Stampin' Up! And, of course we can't forget to share the Tree Builder punch that coordinates so beautifully with the set. I will be also sharing a CASE from Stampin' Up!'s catalog.
Before I share my project with you I want to remind you this is a circular hop. That means that wherever you begin, if you continue to go to the "next" person on this list, you will eventually wind up right where you first started. You will fin the "next" button (and the "previous" button - if you wan to go backwards) at the end of this post. The "home" button will give you a listing of all participating blogs. I hope you'll take time to look at all our blogs.
If you've been moving forward through the blog hop you have arrived here after stopping by Christine Giuda's blog. Doesn't she have wonderful projects - I just love her creativity!

Sprinkles of Life - Easel Card
It is easy to create a "designer series" paper with the sprinkles stamp. To create the DSP look I randomly stamped Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Elegant Eggplant sprinkles over a piece of Whisper White card stock.
The top part of the cupcake is layered to give more dimension to the card. Of course I used the Tree Builder punch to punch out the cupcake!
This is how the unopened card looks.
.
Did you notice I put a thin strip of the designer series paper I made over the Daffodil Delight ribbon?
Sprinkles of Life - Flap Fold Card
I was on a fancy fold kick! While looking on Splitcoaststampers I came across the Flap Fold Card tutorial and decided to give it a try. It's actually very easy and fun to make.
This picture is with the top flap folded over and behind.
For the main panel I started with Whisper White card stock and sponged Pool Party for the sky and Garden Green for the hill. I made the clouds on this piece lighter than on the top flap by stamping with Soft Sky ink instead of Pool Party so the sun with the happy birthday would be the main focal point in the sky.
I love how easy it is to punch out the tree and flowers with the Tree Builder punch.
The inside.
Catalog CASE
I am so glad the group decided to do another CASE from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog for two reasons:
- It made me go back through the catalog and look at all the wonderful creations the talented Stampin' Up! team put together.
- I realized I have always had a great source of inspiration right under my nose!
I really liked this card found at the top of page 105 in the annual catalog. As you can see, this card was created using softer colors.
I decided I wanted to make a card using bolder colors. I chose to use some of my favorite in-colors from last year - Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, and Hello Honey. I also stepped up the card by adding an extra layer with the Blackberry Bliss as my card base.
I hope you take time to look through the annual catalog again soon. If you are like me you will be surprised at what you find to CASE!
I hope you enjoyed my projects as much as I enjoyed making them and I hope you were inspired along the way.

I just love the fancy fold cards, Marie, and the colour combinations you chose. Great projects!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deborah. Sometimes I just have to do something different other than the same old, same old. Changing up the folds helped!
DeleteI love all three of your cards Marie. Each one has something so special about it. Thanks for the tip on building the "sprinkles" dsp, I simply never thought of that. I love the sun on your second card, it just captures your attention right away. The bolder colours and the addition of the Blackberry Bliss layer on your third card are simply awesome ways of stepping up the original card. Thanks so much for sharing your talents.
ReplyDeleteThanks Penny! I had fun creating these cards.
DeleteNeat effect using sprinkles for the background. Great easel and fold cards. That b.bliss butterfly really pops.
ReplyDeleteBev, I just loved the finished product using the sprinkle stamp. In fact I've used it on several other things as a filler.
DeleteHi Marie, thanks so much for continuing to be part of our awesome Blog Hop group! Love, love, love that easel card. It must have taken forever to stamp all those sprinkles but the end result is wonderful. What a neat second special fold you've created. It sounds complicated but I sure like the way it comes together. And your CASE...beautiful! Those strong, vibrant colours make the card "pop".
ReplyDeleteThanks Heidi. The easel fold is becoming my favorite fold at the moment. It actually didn't take as long as one would think to make the DSP using the sprinkle stamp. I hope you have time to check out the flap fold tutorial on Spilcoast - the card is so easy and fun to make.
DeleteAll of your projects are top notch! I love the easel card.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kath. The easel card is my favorite. I wish I could have gotten a better picture and capture the colors better because it looks much richer in person. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteMarie, I love your flap fold card, It's great!! I love the colors you used on your catalog CASE!
ReplyDeleteThanks! The flap fold card is a lot of fun to make and so easy. I was surprised when I made it that it didn't take me long. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteMarie, I have to say each of your cards is on my CASE list, including the CASE. Your Sprinkles of Life cards are absolutely darling.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind comments Christine. I'm glad you liked my cards. Thank you for stopping by!
DeleteMarie, I can't imagine how many times you inked and stamped those sprinkles, but what a great background idea! Your cards are wonderful this month!
ReplyDeleteThank you Priscilla! The hardest part about the sprinkles was remembering to clean my stamp in between colors! Thanks for visiting!
