Regarding Dahlias - Watercolor

Originally posted on July 13, 2014
My flowers are in full bloom and my sweet peas have grown to over 4 feet! My dahlias are growing, but haven’t bloomed yet. With the heat we have been experiencing I need to make sure I am on top of the watering. This next week we are to hit triple digits! Summer is definitely here!

Can you believe I am still playing with watercolor techniques?  I am!  Today’s technique was supposed to be the ghost watercolor technique but I used too much water and the first attempt did not turn out. So…I decided to see what would happen if I were to stamp the lifted ink onto paper.  I like the results!

I did finally figured out the ghost technique, but have not made the piece into a card yet.  What’s up with that!  LOL!!

After I stamped the image I wanted to highlight the outline of some of the petals.  I used an aqua painter to draw the outline.
