BIRD BUILDER PUNCH FROM STAMP CAMP
Whew! Yesterday I was beginning to wonder if I could finish up the samples of the cards for today's stamp camp, clean the house, and do the shopping. Tonight I'm vegging out and contemplating what I will be doing for the Christmas card camp I will be doing in a couple of months! I must like stress!
I did learn several lessons at stamp camp today:
- Lesson 1: 10 minutes cards really don't exist (anyway at my stamp camps)! Between my need to explain the process; the stamp and ink to be passed around the table; and everyone working at a different pace, it is not reality!
- Lesson 2: 10 cards are too many when your plan is to finish in four hours with lunch half way through camp! Again, not reality!
When I was preparing for stamp camp I was looking on-line for inspiration and in some instances cards to CASE. I tried to make them simple (Ha! That didn't work!). I found a butterfly card that I liked and thought would be simple, but I didn't want to use butterflies again, so I wasn't going to CASE the card.
One of my friends came over and was helping me decide what cards to make and loved the butterfly card and wanted me to use the idea. But, I just couldn't use another butterfly!!!! So, she began looking through the Stampin' Up catalog while I was mulling the idea over in my head. Flowers were out, they don't fly, we don't have hot air balloons in the current catalog, so my friend said to me, "What about birds?" I knew I did not have the current bird set "Polka-Dot Pieces", so after much thought here is the card I created by paper piecing the birds based on the stamp set.
Do you think it looks anything like the butterfly card I got my original inspiration from
Love all of the cards we made--you should post a picture of the bags you made for each of us. You are an amazing lady!!
